Briefing Desk

Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-08-24.

The service

Briefing Desk ("we", "us") searches public web pages published inside a recency window you choose, reads them, and composes a short cited brief at your direction. You ("you", "the customer") pay per brief at the rate published on our pricing page, either in Ounie credits or, on the keyless rail, in USDC per call.

What this is not

Briefing Desk is not a monitoring, alerting or subscription service. It builds one brief per request and nothing runs on your behalf afterwards. There is no schedule, no notification and no recurring charge, and you should not rely on it to tell you when something happens.

Acceptable use

You may only use brains your Ounie account can access as a ranking lens. You will not attempt to discover endpoints we haven't documented or bypass rate limits. Briefs summarise third-party material and link to it; the underlying pages remain the property of their publishers, and your use of what you read is your responsibility.

Account & billing

There is no subscription for this product. Usage is billed in Ounie credits from your shared Ounie wallet — 12 credits per brief, reserved when the work starts and settled on success. If nothing was published on your topic inside the window, or nothing in what came back anchored to a citable source, the reservation is refunded in full and you are not charged. Reading, listing and exporting a brief you already paid for is free. Credits are purchased and managed on ounie.com; your prior briefs remain accessible regardless of your balance.

On the keyless x402 rail, payment is settled on chain and is final — there is no refund mechanism. We compensate by verifying your payment, doing the work, and settling only once there is a real brief to return; a request we can already tell is unanswerable is refused before you are asked to authorize anything.

No warranty of accuracy

A brief summarises what third parties published. Every item carries the source it came from precisely so you can check it, and you should: we do not warrant that any source is accurate, current or complete, and we do not independently verify what a publisher says. The watch list and open questions are explicitly forward-looking and speculative. This is not investment, legal, medical or professional advice of any kind.

Refunds

Failed and thin briefs are refunded automatically on the credit rail (the reservation is reversed, pool-exact). For anything else, open a support ticket.

Liability

Our liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any loss arising from a decision you made after reading a brief.

Termination

Either party can terminate at any time. You retain access to briefs you have already paid for. We may suspend accounts for material violations of these terms with notice.
